Dental Helping Hands - The Heart Behind DentCare Now

Dr. Johnson believes access to dental care is a right, not a privilege. Dental Helping Hands is how she acts on that belief.

Where DentCare Now's Mission Began

Dental Helping Hands was founded in 2016 by Dr. Rasheeda Johnson. The nonprofit provides free dental care through international medical missions, reaching patients who have little to no access to dental services in their communities.


To date, Dr. Johnson has traveled on missions to Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Guatemala, and Sudan. Each trip is a reminder of why she became a dentist: to make a difference for people the system doesn't reach.


"My practice is an extension of what I believe," Dr. Johnson says. "That nobody should have to live in pain because they can't afford care or can't find someone willing to see them."


That same belief is what drives DentCare Now - open 7 days a week, transparent pricing, no judgment. The patients we serve in Fairfax and the patients we serve abroad are different in geography, but not in dignity.
